Answer: Most dogs benefit from a professional groom every 4 to 8 weeks. Long-haired or double-coated breeds (like Poodles, Oodles, and Golden Retrievers) usually need maintenance every 4–6 weeks to prevent matting, while short-coated breeds can often go 8–12 weeks for a bath and de-shed.

Answer: We recommend that owners do not stay during the appointment. Dogs are usually much calmer and more focused on the groomer when their owners aren't in sight. Rest assured, your pup will be in safe, loving hands the entire time!

Answer: We specialize in low-stress handling! We take things slow, use positive reinforcement, and take breaks whenever needed. Please let us know about any specific anxieties (like dryers or nail clippers) on your intake form so we can tailor the session to your dog's comfort level.

Answer: Our top priority is always humanity over vanity. Dematting tight mats can be painful and dangerous for a dog's sensitive skin. If a coat is severely matted, we will discuss shaving the coat short so your dog can start fresh with a clean, comfortable slate.

Answer: Safety for both your dog and our groomers is paramount. If a dog becomes excessively stressed or aggressive, we may use a soft muzzle as a temporary safety measure, or pause the groom entirely if it is no longer safe to continue. Honesty on your intake form helps us prepare the right environment!

Answer: While vaccinations and worming are not mandatory for grooming salons in Tasmania, we strongly recommend that all pets are up to date on both before their visit. Keeping up with routine preventive care helps ensure there is no cross-contamination to everyone else in the salon.

Answer: As soon as they are fully vaccinated (usually around 12 to 16 weeks old)! We strongly recommend bringing puppies in early for a short "Puppy Intro" session (bath, gentle brush, face/paw tidy) so they get used to the sounds and smells of the salon in a positive way.

Please note that full body clips or length removal off the coat are not included, as this session focuses on keeping your pup calm, comfortable, and building a positive experience for future full grooms.
